Once again Chelsea strike, Roman Abramovich has sacked his Manager. Will Chelsea ever realise that success on the football pitch is not measured by how many trophies, league position or failure in one cup competition or another, but by taking the long term view on how to bring success to a club. How can he justify sacking the Di Mateo after only 8 months and after his brilliant success at winning both the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Clubs such as Manchester United and Stoke realise that success and results are built on keeping there managers and coaching staff. Manchester United have brought European and Domestic glory by keeping there manager. Newcastle, who were always sacking there managers, have at last realised that to bring success they had to offer Alan Pardew a new long term contract. This is despite the fact that that Newcastle haven’t won anything for over 40 years.
Abramovich has sacked all his managers, many after only a few months, and after bringing silverware and top league positions to the club, His arrogance beggars belief, he must believe that Chelsea have a god given right to win every trophy and League title.
This merry- go-round of sacking managers in football has gone on for too long. The FA should step in. In what other profession would you see this attrition?
Roberto Di Matteo should go for unfair dismissal. Its about time football changed.
